Treatment for food allergy

Treatment for food allergy

The treatment for food allergies in general is done through a specific diet exclusion of foods which cause allergic reaction but can also include taking antihistamines and the individual must always be accompanied by a nutritionist or gastroenterologist.
For example, the individual who are allergic to gluten can not eat foods containing gluten in its composition as bread, biscuits, pasta and cereals. But the individual who are allergic to milk, can not eat anything containing milk or traces of milk, such as yogurt, cheese, cakes and biscuits, for example.
During a severe food allergy crisis when the individual feels great difficulty in breathing, and has gastric inflammation, it is recommended to take medications to treat anaphylactic shock, as the application of an injection of adrenaline, for example. Mild reactions that arise on the skin, for example, can be treated with the intake of antihistamines oral use.
However, in any situation of food allergy monitoring and medical treatment is necessary , under the risk of developing nutritional deficiencies with hair loss, weak nails, poor skin, poor wound healing among others.
